This site is dedicated to the memory of Joan Pallant.

Joan Pallant a tribute from her husband. At approximately 7:00 on Thursday morning the 16 Aug 2007, Joan passed away in my arms. The light in my life disappeared and this is a sadder place for the loss of such a beautiful, warm and fantastic woman. We have received hundreds of message and cards. They all have a common theme, Joan was a good friend, home maker, great teacher, humorous, loving mum, an inspirational woman. In her hour of need Joan thought of others. In her hour of need she cared for me. Joan didn’t want to upset people with her illness so she carefully thought of how she would tell them. Keeping positive at all times, she wanted life to continue as normal as much as possible and not for anyone to worry about her. Joan’s love and kindness was unconditional. Joan would always do her best for people, whether it was guidance or a helping hand. She had such strength and passion for life and her family. Joan left a legacy in two good men, James and Jonathan, I can see her qualities in them and it gives me comfort in this darkness. Joan and I are very proud of them. Joan was beautiful, her blue eyes and radiant smile were a joy to see, her sharp mind, her love and support made me very happy and content. It was a privilege to know Joan and an honour to be her husband. I love her dearly and will miss her more than words can express. Joan dealt with her illness with courage, fortitude, dignity, never giving it any quarter. With her beliefs and strength of mind she parked her illness to one side and continued to enjoy life, travelling and meeting people, she loved to talk, take pictures and had a great sense of humour. The key thing is that there is an answer to this type of illness. For some it may not be here today but it will be here soon, there is hope, there is a way forward.
